The implication of Baduy Dalam tribe’s closure on Indonesia’s rank in the World Economic Forum Pascasarjana Pendidikan Sosiologi (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Bandung) Abstract Education, health, technology, and infrastructure become important factors to develop the status of Indonesia in the international forums like World Economic Forum (WEF). Current development encourages every country to require its citizens to obtain education. Thus, the government is facing such a problem. The Baduy Dalam tribe is so closed to education, health, and technology. Baduy tribe is generally divided into two groups: Baduy Dalam and Baduy Luar. Surely, the unequal education service will decrease a country’s rank in the international forums. Thus, the closure of Baduy Dalam people get the government seek strategies to solve this problem like encouraging the Baduy Luar people to get involved in bringing about change in Baduy Dalam area. This research employed qualitative approach by using case-study method within which observation, literature review, and interview with some of the village leaders and people were done to collect the data. The findings mainly pinpoint that: 1) the closure of Baduy Dalam people to formal education; 2) the closure of Baduy Dalam people to health access; and 3) the closure of Baduy Dalam people to technology and infrastructures.
