Currently, universities have conducted activities both in terms of academic and non academic in the process of deradicalization among the students. But the deradicalization program conducted by universities is not optimal yet. Therefore, this study aims to find out why the deradicalization activities is not optimal yet, and to determine the application of deradicalization programs that undertaken by universities. Data collection methods uses interviews, observation and documentation. The location of this research is four State Universities in Bandung. Informants in this research is the implementers of deradicalization activities and students at four State Universities in Bandung. The results obtained indicate that the deradicalization in universities is not optimal, because universities assume that deradicalization activities only as repressive activities and conducted when there are students who have radical thinking, and deradicalization activities that have been done still in the form of developing student’s cognitive abilities. It can be concluded that to make the college work optimally in deradicalization activities, it is necessary to change the orientation of the universities, as implementation of preventive deradicalization activities.
